• Moderate rainfall was observed in Delhi-NCR on Thursday, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert. The forecast includes a generally cloudy sky with spells of rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. Isolated hailstorms are also likely in Delhi, Haryana, and Chandigarh until October
• Wind speeds are expected to reach 40-50 kmph during the morning hours, with gusts of 30-40 kmph later in the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are predicted to be 27°C and 17°C, respectively. Meanwhile, the city's air quality remains in the 'poor' category, with an AQI of 227 recorded on Thursday morning, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Impact & Risks

The rainfall and strong winds may disrupt daily activities, particularly in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging. The poor air quality, with PM2.5 and PM10 as the main pollutants, poses health risks, especially for individuals with respiratory conditions. Prolonged exposure to the current AQI levels could lead to breathing discomfort and potential respiratory illnesses. Areas such as Uttam Nagar and Dwarka Sector 8 reported 'very poor' air quality, with AQI levels exceeding 300.
